Meet Benny Hull

Benny Hull, host of Southern Sportsman

On March 18, 1940 in a mill house in the town of Rossville, GA, Benny Hull was born. From the time he was 8 years, every week young Benny and his dad could be found fishing the Tennessee River at the famous Hales Bar Dam, just a few miles above present-day Nickajack Dam. Renting a 16-foot wooden boat with a 10-hp Scott, they fished the boils for white bass, sauger, catfish, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and skippjack. During his late teens and early twenties, Hull traveled to the Florida Keys many times. It was there that he fell in love with saltwater fishing. Drawing on the skills and talents he had honed over the years, Benny ran a successful fresh- and saltwater fishing guide service for four years.

Hull launched his TV career in 1986 with a one-hour, live call-in fishing show. For two years he had several guest on the air. The show, called American Outdoors, grew into a nationally broadcast 30-minute show on the Outdoor Channel and Comcast Sport South. Hull later added a live radio outdoor talk show called Stump Bumper Outdoors Live on WGOW 102.3 FM.

For the last 22 years, Benny Hull has has done it all, and along the way he landed himself in the Fishing Hall Of Fame Word Record books a total of eight times. He still holds six line class records. Benny has a love like no other for the great outdoors and loves sharing his knowledge with others. Now you can watch videos featuring Benny Hull at MyOutdoorTV.com. BoJoLe Flutter Spoon

BoJoLe Flutter Spoon

The BoJoLe Flutter Spoon will outfish any other lure when cast across the flats, along weedlines, or through the boils for feeding gamefish. Its fluttering, erratic action, size, and appearance mimic shad in order to trigger strikes from trophy rockfish, smallmouth, and largemouth bass, speckled sea trout, redfish, snook, musky, and northern pike.
